A LOTRO meetup and toast to
Christopher Tolkien on his
Centenary Birthday (21/11/24)
♪ Hwæt!
On this day, one hundred years ago, Christopher Tolkien was born in Leeds, England, to Edith and J.R.R. Tolkien.
On the Laurelin server of the Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) I aim to celebrate by posting snippets of Christopher-lore into world chat during the day and in the evening, around 9pm GMT (10pm CET or 4pm /servertime) I’ll ask the player community to gather in Rivendell to hold a toast to J.R,R, Tolkien’s son and “chief critic and collaborator”.
He was more than just an editor of his father’s works, he was the youngest and last Inkling. Over a period of forty-seven years Christopher published twenty-four editions of J.R.R. Tolkien’s works.
I’ll also continue to write and post articles on my blog and on here with more lore and other information about Christopher on the centenary of his birthday.
