Tolkien Trewsday (the Hobbit name for Tuesday!) invites the #Tolkien community to form a fellowship to collectively tweet about a pre-selected theme about Tolkien, his works and his life. 

Each week a new theme will be selected, often via a poll or by a guest host/curator, and together we will build a collective outpouring of creativity, knowledge and love for J.R.R. Tolkien and the adaptions based on his works.

With 2024 upon us, it's time to take a look at what is expected from the various Tolkien licenses. There are still currently only two license-holders for anything produced about Tolkien's works and the world of Middle-earth: The Tolkien Estate and Middle-earth Enterprises (owned by Embracer). In 2024 (and beyond) we’ll see several cinematic and televised adaptations set in Middle-earth and about J.R.R. Tolkien. We are also seeing more theatrical productions such as the acclaimed Watermill Theatre’s 2023 “The Lord of the Rings” play.
