Wanderer of woodland, gatherer of acorns and pine cones, fur so varied they may compete with the woven robes of Saruman of Many Colours! What are we talking about? Squirrels of course! Let us celebrate this humble forest creature with a story not suited for the meek or fearful at a secret location - “The Tale of Trollshaws Squirrel or the Smell of Roast Mutton.”

From Black Squirrels of Mirkwood, to a ghost in Adelard Took’s library in the Great Smials, whilst in Eastfold there is a house full of them! Working for George the Rooster, you may find a Grey Squirrel in Nen Harn with huge plans for the future… whatever you think of them, squirrels are part of Middle-earth.

To celebrate this humble forest dweller, a short play, “The Tale of Trollshaws Squirrel or the Smell of Roast Mutton”, will be performed at a specially designed stage in the Bree-land Homsteads. Please meet Heimdalli at 3 Fountain Street, Havertry, Bree-land Homsteads. When all are gathered there, she will lead you to the area of play to await the beginning of the tale.

During the course of the day, it is quite possible the play may be performed in the streets and lanes across Middle-earth, before the grand finale in Bree-land Homesteads.

OCC Details
This is a just-for-fun social event.

As usual with my events, this should be considered RP-Lite. RP is welcome, but please note there will be players who don’t usually RP attending and won’t be expected to RP at this event.

As you may have gathered by now with events I create, this play is based on something from the real world, in this case the 21 January is considered “National Squirrel Appreciation Day” and so I decided to do a little something for our little nut-loving friend in the forest. It may also be because where I live there is one of the last refuges of Red Squirrels in Northern England and I definitely consider our reds a national treasure!

Feel free to show off your pet squirrels if you have them!

Apologies in advance, Heimdalli is on the way to being a level 40 captain, so much more useful in being able to summon others, but like quite a few of my alts, she’s taking her time about getting there. If there are any helpful captains on the day to help summon, I’ll be grateful.

Your contact will be Heimdalli (not Ranatuor) – Rana will be preparing to perform and won’t be able to respond to IMS, before or during the play. Heimdalli will be waiting for all arrivals and then leading the merry band to the secret location.
